Cats

The domestic cat (Felis silvestris catus), popularly called cat, and colloquially kitten, michino, michi, micho, mizo, miz, morroño or morrongo, Among other names, it is a carnivorous mammal of the Felidae family. It is a subspecies domesticated by coexistence with the human being.
The current name in many languages comes from the vulgar Latin catus. Paradoxically, catus alluded to wild cats, while domestic cats, in Latin, were called felis.

As a result of genetic mutations, crossbreeding, and artificial selection, there are numerous breeds. Some, like the Sphynx breed or the Peterbald breed, are hairless; others have no tail, like cats of the Manx breed, and some have atypical colorations, like so-called blue cats.

The cat communicates through vocalizations. The most popular are its characteristic meow and purr, but it can howl, moan, growl, and snort.
Along with the dog, it is the most popular pet, as a pet, as an aid in fighting rodents, or both.
